The laboratory of Dr. Herbert Zheng Wu in the Department of Neuroscience at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team. The postdoctoral fellow will lead independent projects to investigate flexible social cognition and decision-making.

The Wu Laboratory is interested in understanding how molecularly defined neuronal populations give rise to circuit dynamics underlying social cognition and decision-making. To study these questions, we will apply a variety of modern methodologies including large-scale calcium imaging, single-cell omics, in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, quantitative behavioral analysis, and computational modeling.

We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, critical, and inquisitive and has excellent communication skills. The candidate should have a recent Ph.D. or M.D/Ph.D. in a relevant field including neuroscience, biology, psychology, biomedical engineering, and computer science. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in calcium imaging and quantitative analysis of large-scale neural data.

You can expect the Principal Investigator to have a sincere interest in your work and support you at every stage of your career. We will help you realize your potential, do meaningful and fun science with the team, and develop a vision as an independent scientist. You will join a vibrant neuroscience community at Mount Sinai and will have opportunities to interact with a broad network of neuroscientists in the New York City. We will provide a competitive salary as well as health benefits and guaranteed subsidized postdoctoral housing.

To apply, please send a cover letter detailing your research interests, your CV, and the contact information of three referees to zheng.wu@mssm.edu. Thank you for your interest in joining our team.
